Stars of the 78th Tour de Pologne make a great start to the season

Just a moment ago, the attention of cycling fans were directed to the great performance of Matej Mohorič (Team Bahrain Victorious) and his victory in the race Milan-San Remo.

The Slovenian took second place in the general classification of last year’s Tour de Pologne, and only a few days later, two other cyclists, whose names are certainly familiar to the Polish audience, achieved their own triumphs.

The winner of the general classification of the 2021 Tour de Pologne – Portuguese João Almeida, probably did not want to remain in Mohorič’s shadow and added his first victory for his new team – UAE Team Emirates. He won stage 4 of the Volta a Catalunya in fine style, launching his attack 250 metres before the finish line, ahead of Nairo Quintana and Sergio Higuita.

The end of March is also a good time for the young but talented Ben Tulett (Ineos Grenadiers), who reached for his first ever professional victory, winning stage 3 of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. Ben Tulett won the Bjorg Lambrecht Best U23 classification during the 2021 Tour de Pologne.

Once again, the opinion is confirmed that the Polish race is a “factory of stars”. We keep our fingers crossed for more cycling successes and are very curious to see who will be discovered this year.
