The Tour de Pologne contributes to Polish business and economic development
Czeslaw Lang and the Tour de Pologne UCI World Tour have just received an important distinction. This award recognizes the value of the event, not only as a sports competition but also for the role it plays in the economic and social development of the country. The prize was awarded at the Economy Awards Gala held in Jasionka, near Rzeszów, during the Congress that is considered one of the most significant economic forums organized every year in Poland.
This “prize for the economy” (Nagroda Gospodarcza) is assigned each year by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda. It is a special acknowledgement for companies that contribute significantly to the development of the Polish economy with businesses that foster a positive image of Polish on the international scene.
Prize categories include: leaders, national success, international success, research, development, start-ups, family businesses and many more. The Head of State also decided to reward an individual prize to Czeslaw Lang, as a person who has managed to stand out with his enterprise at the highest levels, promoting the Polish economy and business community.
“This is an honour; I am very proud that the President has decided to award me this prestigious prize, which stands as a symbol of the Nation’s appreciation for all the work we do. My Tour de Pologne staff is one big family, and they deserve most of the credit for a job well done. More and more our race is becoming a recognizable brand, one that has been able to make its mark representing Poland on the international scene. This sports event has become the symbol of a nation, kind of like the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta de Espana in their respective countries. We are very pleased and we will continue to do our best, working with commitment and passion to promote Poland through cycling,” says the General Director for the Tour de Pologne, Czeslaw Lang.
