GOOD MORNING TOUR DE POLOGNE, PREVIEW STAGE II

Following tradition, the arrival in Katowice promises high speed thrills. There too, fans can expect an exciting finish at the Spodek Arena, where the riders will be hitting 80 km/h. After all, Katowice is the cycling world’s sprint Mecca. In 2016 the winner was Fernando Gaviria. In 2015 Matteo Pelucchi made his mark at this finish line; in 2014 it was Belgian Jonas Van Genechten and before that Taylor Phinney, Aidis Kruopis and Marcel Kittel have all dominated the final straight sprint in Katowice, always at an electrifying pace. There are sure to be plenty of spectacular adrenaline thrills with the Tour de Pologne in Katowice.
This typical sprint stage of this year’s Tour de Pologne will start in Tarnowskie Góry. From there, the riders will head towards the capital of Upper Silesia. Along the way, they will fight on three sprint primes in Piekary Slaskie, Chorzow and Siemianowice Slaskie, as well as Special Primes in Bytom. Before reaching one of the fastest finishes in the world, the peloton will pass through Katowice. The three-lap route of 17.5 kilometres runs through the greenest part of the city, near the Valley of Three Ponds. On Wojciech Korfanty Street and Henryk Mikolaj Górecki Street there are two mountain primes. The sprint around the Spodek Arena is a moment that will make the hearts of all fans beat stronger.
